If you’re a government meeting planner, an outside consultant specializing in government meetings or virtually anyone dealing with this kind of meeting, it may feel like a perpetual minefield when you’re trying to navigate regulations and ethics standards and make certain all arrangements are above reproach. “I’ve been doing this since 1994, and one of the first things I learned is that appearance is everything,” Hartman says. “You might have the best deal in the world from a hotel, but if it appears as if a government official is having a lavish meeting or something a city official doesn’t want on the front page of the newspaper, don’t do it.”

BETHESDA, MD—January 3, 2013— The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Future Trends Task Force will identify emerging trends in the events industry with the help of Frost Miller Group’s (FMG) Chief Account Strategist, Barbara A. Myers, CAE.
IAEE’s Future Trends Task Force is a subgroup of the Strategic Planning Task Force. The task force pinpoints future trends and predicts their future impact on the exhibitions and events industry and the association.

2012: Year in Review
These were not only shattering events for the travel industry but major disasters that attracted the world's attention. They marked the year and left lasting scars, but they have one thing in common: In time we will be past them. In time they will be memories as distant as the Andrea Doria and Hurricane Hazel.

IMEX Group Makes Top 10 Predictions for 2013 Meetings
According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2013 will be the Year of the Snake. For meeting planners, however, the New Year won't bring snakebites; it will bring neuroscience, increased attendance, gamification, monetized meetings apps and visual marketing, according to the IMEX Group, which today released its top 10 predictions for the meetings and events industry in 2013.
